This piece of paradise on the Cheakamus River just keeps getting better! SOLscapes is truly grateful to be playing such a key role in the incredible transformation of this space over the last few years. We’ve had a variety of responsibilities on the expansive Fergies/ Sunwolf property which include edible plant garden design and installation, wedding ceremony space development,  indigenous tree and shrub transplantation and general maintenance practices. 

In 2017, SOLscapes was offered a very exciting opportunity. In collaboration with Fergies Cafe and Green Step Solutions, we participated in a progressive initiative that supported qualification for Green Tourism Certification. We designed a fantastic transition program that provided practical solutions to meet Green Tourism standards. This regenerative approach boasted a sustainable closed-loop system that diverted kitchen waste from the landfill while simultaneously generating nutrient dense compost that in turn fed the soil within our interactive garden space. Throughout this transition period, our focus was to produce high quality organic food for guests and kitchen use, promote social responsibility, foster a connection to food and local consumption, provide a valuable learning opportunity and to enhance the dining experience with abundant growth. 

After a devastating fire in April 2018, we are thrilled to be collaborating with this dynamic local food hub once more in 2019, continually shifting what unique design suits their evolving cuisine as the new cafe is built. This project has aligned seamlessly with our commitment to community connection and empowerment through hands on learning opportunities. Let’s get ready, set, grow!
